The Rains — Fast Growth, Firm Weeding
When the rains come the grass races away and weeds come up fast. The lawn needs mowing every one to two weeks, clean edges, and firmer weeding to stop the beds being overtaken — cut too rarely now and it goes coarse and patchy.
The Dry Season — Hold Moisture, Cut Less
Growth slows right down. We mow less often, cut a little higher so the grass shades its own roots, and focus on watering and keeping the lawn alive rather than constant cutting — so it is ready to bounce back when the rains return.
Harmattan & Dust
Through the Harmattan the lawn is stressed by heat and dust. We avoid scalping or over-spraying a lawn that is already under pressure, and keep it ticking over so it recovers quickly.
